imageLast term at Wye School there was an intergenerational project whereby people from the community (elderly but not exclusively so) took part in lessons about fashion and inventions. It was a great idea and I think that everyone who took part enjoyed it – children, teachers and adults.

As part of the follow-up, Dave Martin has written a report which I’m publishing here with his permission: 150708TheMisfits. The report details the project as a whole but within it you’ll find some great designs for clothes and comments about how valuable the experience was for both generations.

I particularly like these comments regarding fashion:

“I think I shocked them when asked if I would wear leather and I replied I did when I rode my motor bike!”

And “We were around when the mini-skirt was invented!”

The over-60s fightback has begun…
