The Trust for Conservation Volunteers are arranging a river clean up next Wednesday 22nd April. Anyone who’s interested can meet the organisers on the bridge in Wye at 9.45 am where they will be equipped with litter-pickers and bin-bags.
This is obviously great. It’s on the list of environment objectives so we might be able to tick something off. Would be even better if there was some regular schedule whereby we all knew that litter-picking on the river takes place every year on the third Wednesday in April?
There was actually a similar litter-pick last week on the Stour at Conningbrook when they collected 70 bags and where the following picture was taken. How fantastic it would be if the Stour was more commonly used as a place for canoeing rather than a rubbish dump.
