CONSULTATION DEADLINE

Once upon a time… Long long ago… A neighbourhood plan meeting in Wye.

This post is really just a reminder to residents of Wye that the consultation deadline for the Neighbourhood Plan is on Friday 13th March.

I filled in my form yesterday. I declared myself to be supportive of the policies on housing (and most of the rest of the plan in fact). Most of the comments I made were related to the cycle path, renewable energy, and the specific nature of the policies relating to the main college building. You can see them here NPJasperthoughts.

Holding back the gale...

Holding back the gale…

For a while I considered suggesting a further policy relating to double glazing in conservation areas. Currently English Heritage does not permit double glazing which seems a bit crazy given climate change.

However, having read the English Heritage document on traditional windows, I am partially persuaded that there is good reason for the policy. While there is some good double glazing, there is also some awful stuff out there.

We may all fry in +4 degrees (or freeze in old houses!), but at least the buildings will look nice!
