AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A FILM

WyedramaAre you between the ages of 13 and 17? Would you like to get involved in making a film this summer? If so, please read on.

Two new village organisations (Funder Films and Wye Drama) are teaming up to produce a film about the pilots who died when training at Wye Aerodrome during the Great War.

The film will be shot on locations around the village and will tell the stories of the airmen who flew from the airfield which was situated in the fields on Bramble Lane close to Wye Motors.

Teenagers will be presenting the film and will be taught film techniques and how to speak to camera by media and theatre industry professionals. Hopefully they may also have time to work on the Wye’s Forgotten Airmen website which will detail the progress of the project.

If you are interested (or you know anyone who might be), please attend a meeting at the Small Village Hall in Wye on July 12th at 5.30 pm. Alternatively please email Jasper Bouverie – jasper at funderfilms.com.

The first two filming dates are likely to be during the weeks of July 25 and July 28 but it will be necessary for any interested teens to register beforehand – so that paperwork can be completed.

The film will be designed to compliment both the existing World War 1 projects being undertaken in Wye: the memorial to the aerodrome itself which will be unveiled on Churchfield Green on August 24, and the memorial plaque to the airmen who died while training at Wye which will be unveiled by the Bishop of Dover on Remembrance Sunday.
