A planning application for 25 houses has been submitted to Ashford Borough Council for the Wye 2 site.

The application can be viewed on the Ashford planning portal. The application code is 00195/AS.

My initial thoughts are that this bears little resemblance to the ideas for Wye 2 set out in the draft Neighbourhood Plan: Wye 2 and Southern boundary (2).wye2b

Instead of 15 houses, we have 25. Instead of single storey dwellings, we have houses of 2 or 3 storeys. Instead of anything particularly unique, we have designs which will make Wye look like everywhere else in the country.

Is there not room for greater individual expression in how we build our communities? (See self-build update.)

The parish council will be considering its response over the coming weeks.
