Here’s some better artwork.

The village is currently embarking on a neighbourhood plan. The self-sufficiency exhibition and workshop was part of this – and some of the ideas were picked up by Mark, a landscape designer who lives down the street from me and who was commissioned to draw some maps – scenarios to inspire (or alarm?) the village.

Wow! A space allocated on a map… for the swimming pond, the community energy ideas and the community orchard! It was a great job and I for one felt inspired. Once you’ve been allocated a space on a map, you’re halfway there aren’t you? Look at Welwyn Garden City after all.. that started with a map… Could it be time to get the deckchair out?
